Just In Time For National Hallmark Day

Just In Time For National Hallmark Day

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
April 24, 2012 will mark our 13th wedding anniversary!  WOW...when I write it like that, it seems like a really long time.  We've been together for 14 years total.

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Danel worked for my step-dads company and I just so happened to be home one evening when he was there.  I asked my mom who he was and if he was single (a little forward maybe but I was completely smitten with how hot he was)!  She said he wasn't dating anyone so when he called later that evening for the next days work orders, I just so happened to answer the phone (ok, ok, I might have been somewhat sitting by the phone waiting on the very hope that the next ring would be him).  I asked him (since it was graduation week) if he wanted to go to dinner, just as friends, sometime that weekend since everyone we normally hung out with would be in Panama City celebrating (we were older and had to work so that didn't work for us).  He said sure and we set a date for Saturday.  We haven't been a part since.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
13 years in April

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We married in the church we attended most of our youth and adulthood.  Our wedding started off smaller and grew a little bigger than anticipated.  So many people were there with us that aren't any longer.  It was absolutely perfect!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
I call him babe, hun, and D.  He calls me baby and flossy

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
1.) He gets me!  He understands my wacky ways and thoughts.  He tolerates my insanity.  I can be myself with him, no faking allowed.  He loves me for me!
2.) He is the most amazing father ever!  I have never seen someone love someone as much as he loves that little boy.  There is nothing more sexier than a man who loves his children!
3.) He is a wonderful provider.  He spoils both Hoyt & I to the point of no return.  He always makes sure that our family is taken care of and works so very hard.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
We were celebrating Christmas with his family.  We were opening gifts from everyone and oooohhhing and aaahhhhing.  I came to the last gift of the evening which was another one from him.  I open a box to find a Winnie the Pooh (yes, I had a thing for chubby honey eating bears) t-shirt and a stuffed animal.  I pulled it all out and said oh how nice (sarcasm showing in my voice I am sure).  Nathan was standing behind me and noticed the ring before I did.  Danel had tied it to the collar of the stuff Winnie the Pooh bear.  Once I noticed and gasped with excitement and elation, he got down on his knee in front of his family and asked me to be his bride!  Oh course, I said yes...I think! (there were quite a few tears and screams so I'm not sure if it actually ever came out or not)

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
NEITHER...THANK GOODNESS!  I'm not a Valentine's person (I know, I'm a girl, it's weird).  I don't need you to tell me that you love me one day out of the year.  I need to know that I am your world every day!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
It all depends!  I love being at the beach, Danel loathes it!  I enjoy traveling, he would rather be home. I am gypsy and he's a serious homebody!
We do love movies at either the thither or home and usually we go see something that all 3 of us will enjoy.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
My dream vacation is to spend 2 weeks in Australia.  His would be an all expense paid hunting trip to the "Milk River" Montana

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
No big plans. I brought home take out like I do 5 nights out of a week (hey, don't judge me)!  I have to add this though, my dinner was completely messed up, not the restaurants fault but rather mine for not clarifying the ingredients.  Instead of me eating it or starving (you can stop laughing now), Danel gave me his food and he ate mine! (That's true love right there)

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Absolutely not and would probably be very upset if I received something.  Such a waste of hard earned money.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Never stop being yourself!  Times change, situations change, circumstances change, but don't change who you are to become who you think they want you to be.  Depend on each other and appreciate each other but don't become obsessed with each other.  I promise if you don't talk to each other every hour on the hour at work, you will live!

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

A Christmas To Remember

The presents have been opened, our tummies have been stuffed, our visitor Glovey has gone back to the North Pole with Santa, and the snow has melted.  Looking back on the Christmas season, I think it was a good one for sure.  Hoyt was so excited Christmas morning when he came running into the living room saying Santa came, Santa came.  There was a stocking overflowing with treats & sugar, there was a walking talking bigfoot, there were games and cars and movies and on and on and on.  The faces in our house were bright with wonder!  As Hoyt marveled in all of the new toys and adventures that awaited him, I cooked a Christmas breakfast that was fit for a king, while poor ole Danel had the pleasure of putting hot wheels tracks together, loosening and tightening screws, and helping Hoyt get things out of packages that were harder to get into than Fort Knox.  It was a day of memories, fun,  family!

A white Christmas in Alabama...that doesn't happen!  It was so exciting and the perfect way to end our eventful Christmas season.  Danel & Hoyt laughed and played in the snow, built a snowman, chased Chewy (who was completely freaking out, I might add); all while I snapped pictures of the moments while enjoying a blanket in a rocking chair on the front porch with a BIG mug of hot chocolate!  As I said before, perfect ending.

Our Little Helper

This year we were really excited that Santa sent us a gem of a friend for us to watch until Christmas.  Glovey Wallis showed up Thanksgiving night and boy oh boy has he been an interesting little fellow!  The first morning after his arrival I found him hanging from the dinning room light.
Hoyt thought it was extremely funny but was quick to let Glovey know that I would be very upset if he had broken my light!

Last night Glovey got into our pantry and found some extra yummy bite size chips-ahoy cookies and chocolate milk.
Those cookies were the perfect size for him to handle.  At least he has great taste!

From the time Glovey got here, he & Hoyt were unseperable and haven't left each others sight.  We even had to take him to church although, he had to wait in the car and wasn't allowed to go inside.  We couldn't take a chance of him acting up in church now could we???

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Oh the stockings are hung by the chimney with care, the tree is decorated and full of Christmas spirit, Gifts are beginning to show up wrapped in coloful wrappings with big pretty bows, and people are just, ummm how should I say it, NICER!!!  There is definetly something about this time of year.
